In addition to that both of the control crosses have another function: namely moving the joint up front and the whole cantilever arm. By means of the left control cross you can move the driver’s cab to the right and left, by means of the right control cross you can open and close the shovel. At first it seems to be very complicated but it is just a question of practice. Therefore you use the two buttons on the left and right just like joysticks. Working Mode: To control the excavator completely you need two control crosses. If you slide both slide controls onwards (respectively backwards) the excavator goes forward (respectively backwards) if you operate only one slide control, only the according track will move and the excavator turns around accordingly. That’s why you control the left and right track separately by using a slide control. Driving Mode: The excavator is a track vehicle. To know in which mode the vehicle is, just look at its color: if it is in the driving mode the vehicle itself is yellow, if it is in working mode only the shovel is colored yellow.
